In response to the global Covid 19 outbreak the 2020 Shark Worlds Organizing Committee, in
consultation with the Canadian and the International Shark Class Association, have been
evaluating the viability of hosting the event as scheduled. We recognize the severity of the
current crisis and considering the continued escalation of infection and how this will disrupt
sailors and the host club we have concluded that running the event as planned is impossible.
As we know there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding this matter. In the end, the organizers and
class only want to host an event which is worthy of the title while also offering visitors a safe and
enjoyable experience. These factors will be paramount in our decision making.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will update the membership of alternate dates or
a decision to cancel the event for 2020 as soon as we can. Expect an update in the week of
April 20th.

mean time competitors are advised not to incur any non refundable expenses (travel,
accommodation, etc.).

Competitors who have already paid their registration may ask for a full refund by emailing
sharkworlds2020@gmail.com . Alternatively, those who have paid can wait until a final
decision is made.
This is a very difficult time and the priority right now is to do what is necessary to ensure the
health and safety of our families, friends and communities. We appreciate everyone’s patience
and continued support.
