The first regatta of the CSCA racing season is only a few weeks away, and we are excited to share a few updates prior to the start of the season.
In preparation for the first regatta, please join as a full or crew member. CSCA membership is a requirement to attend regattas and race at many clubs. Several Shark fleets have already started racing and we encourage local fleets to promote skippers and crews to join as CSCA members.

SHARK OF THE YEAR
Shark of the Year (SOTY) is awarded for the best performance of a crew in five regattas, of which one must be the Canadians, Worlds or North Americans. Women skippers may include the Women’s Annual Regatta towards their SOTY score. The Silver SOTY is any 4 regattas and Bronze SOTY any 3 regattas.

CUTOUTS ON COCKPIT BULKHEAD
Cutouts on the cockpit bulkhead, including holes from previously installed compass and knot meters must be permanently filled in to prevent holes from being used as hiking aids.

CLASS NEWSLETTER
Many members have expressed interest in resurrecting the class newsletter “Shark Scan”. It was stopped because of the high cost of printing and mailing. With digital publishing and distribution making life easier, we are looking for an editor to publish Shark Scan. Please let us know if you are interested.
